1. The Dyson Airwrap

Now Darlings, as a rule, you must be EXTREMELY careful when gifting anything in the appliance and/or beauty category (it can go horribly wrong for obvious reasons). However, this is the exception that proves the rule. It is THE must have this year and I guarantee you will be a hero if she finds this under the tree.

2. Jewelry

You can never go wrong with jewelry – there is a reason those geniuses at Kay Jewelers came up with “Every Kiss Begins with Kay.” Something about pretty, sparkly things make most of us ladies want to smother our men with kisses. But for the love of all that is holy, DO NOT buy a ring or put any jewelry in a ring size box (or anything resembling a ring size box) unless you are proposing.

3. Plan a Trip

It doesn’t have to be Paris (although Paris is always nice). You can take a weekend away at a local B&B or spa (hint: find someplace that offers in-room couple massages or just massage in general). Sunshine in the winter. Cool Breezes in August. Does she like to hike? Does she need a break? Does she need some excitement?

4. A Birkin-esque Bag

If you are already able to purchase the iconic Birkin Bag, then I am HUGELY impressed and urge you to go forth to Hermes and purchase such for your beloved. However, if you are like most of us, and a true Birkin is just ever so slightly out of your reach (you know … if you want to eat and pay rent etc.), then there are some lovely bags available that imitate the shape of the Birkin (sincerest form of flattery) at a much more wallet friendly price point. There are many colors available – pick your girl’s favorite. I personally recommend the grey, orange or pink.

5. Time

Now what do I mean by time? I mean figure out what her interests are and plan an outing to spend time indulging her interests. What does she like? Art? Music? Shopping? Science? Coding? Crafts? Making things? Look online and find a local event or even better plan a trip around one of her interests.

But – always give a little token along with your gift of time, such as a book, a tee shirt or a little something to go along with your larger gift. It will show her that you really thought about this and it wasn’t just a last minute thing.
